We Call it "Network News"

In yet another flailing attempt to be "cool," the Post has launched "Network News.," some kind of Facebook tie in because FB is all the rage with the whippersnappers.

First and foremost, the new feature displaces the weather blog, which is about the only thing we read on the Post. Thanks, guys.

Secondly, how lame is the whole concept? We wonder who'll find it useful.

"The new box highlights the washingtonpost.com articles, photos, blogs and other content most popular with Facebook users, who click a "Like" button to indicate their interest."

"A 'Like' button?"

Good grief. How old is the person writing this copy? 90?

Wanna opt out? Good luck.

The downside?

"This is just the first phase of Network News. Look for more developments in the coming weeks as we expand this new feature. And let us know what you think."

Hey Post. It sucks.
